Ahead of "The Beast From The East", a sudden cold snap that hit the UK in February 2018 we discussed what this kind of weather event is called, what causes it and what kind of weather conditions can we expect during a sudden stratospheric event?

Our membership is open to everyone and anyone with an interest in weather and climate, whether that be as a science, profession or interest.
